2.1 Sponsor

The individual, organisation or institution responsible for the initiation, management and/or financing of a clinical trial. Sponsor must be named in the trial protocol. In some countries legal responsibilities can be delegated to an individual or an organisation. These delegations must be outlined in a Delegation of Responsibilities Agreement.
